NL Urban Solutions wins two awards with their river projects in the IFLA ASIA-PACIFIC region awards 2021

The two HONORABLE mention award-winning projects, which were developed in 2020,  have been recognized by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) and received Landscape Architecture awards. The Asia-Pacific IFLA 2021 ceremony awarded 233 projects from around the world in 19 different categories. We are proud of being recognized by such a prestigious organization.

NL URBAN SOLUTIONS WINS TWO BLUEWAY, RIVER UPGRADING PROJECTS IN SHENZHEN

In Shenzhen, the ambitious Blueway program aims to recover 1000 kilometres of existing rivers, riverfronts, and lakes by 2025. With scenic rivers and lake shorelines as basis, Shenzhen wants to achieve a vision that urban life and industry exists in harmony with safety, ecology, and environmental quality.

In May 2020, the consortium NL Urban Solutions, Lingnan Landscape Design Group and China Design Group (hydrology) was shortlisted in one time as the only bidding consortium for three international Blueway competitions in Shenzhen: Xinqiao river, Shiyan river and Songang river.

Only one month later NL Urban Solutions and the consortium was the winner with their creative and realistic concept design proposal in two Blueway projects: Xinqiao river and Shiyan river.

The consortium of NL Urban Solutions participated the international competition for the overall conceptual planning and design of Blueway around Xili Reservoir

From March to July 2021, the international competition for the overall conceptual planning and design of Blueway programming around Xili Reservoir was held by Shenzhen’s Water Resources Bureau. The consortium that consists of NL Urban Solutions, Lingnan Design Institute and Power East China Design Institute, was selected as one of the top 6 tenders. This is the second time that the consortium has worked together; their previous collaboration resulted in the first prize for the Chishi River urban planning and design competition.

Ambitious landscape architects from The Netherlands impress with FUTURE vision on the city of Shenshan

With their nature based approach ‘DiverCity’ NL Urban Solutions – located in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, has won the design competition for the Chishi river, the ecological backbone for a new city for 1,5 million people in Shenshan. They won the competition in a consortium with Power China Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited, Lingnan Design Group Co. and Plus 8 Consulting Limited. In the top three were two other Dutch design offices; KCAP and MLA + consortium team.

Second prize for landscape and public space design of Academician Valley

 

NL Urban Solutions (NLUS), in cooperation with GVL (Guangzhou), won second prize for the concept landscape design of the new city: Academician Valley. They were selected, together with three other American and Chinese companies, from 26 applications worldwide. The city, with planned area of 21.7 km2 and a population of a half million people will become the center area and ‘economic engine’ of Jinghe New City, Xi’an, Shaan Xi Province, China.
