Recently, the list of winners of the 2022 International Federation of Landscape Architects Africa, Asia Pacific and Middle East (IFLA AAPME) Awards was officially announced. Out of 318 entries, one of our projects won the Honorable Mention Award in the category of Analysis and Planning.

IFLA is the most influential academic organization under the guidance of UNESCO in the international landscape architecture industry, and currently has members of landscape architecture associations from 57 countries. IFLA AAPME Awards is an international design award jointly organized by IFLA Asia Pacific and IFLA Africa and Middle East. This year, the award called for climate action and response in the design of the climate crisis.

The design of Shiyan River and Niugudou Reservoir Bidao transforms the 11.48-kilometer-long Shiyan River from a drainage channel into a dynamic ecological water chain in the city. The value realization path puts forward a new exploration and thinking. At the same time, it also promotes the renewal of surrounding old residential areas and the iteration of urban comprehensive service functions, thereby activating the comprehensive value of the entire watershed. Through these interventions, the Shiyan River Bidao will become a dynamic river park that is both climate adaptive and socially resilient. Composed of landscape architects, urban designers, architects, ecologists and hydrologists, our design team proposes highly adaptable and feasible solutions for complex urban environments.
