Haidong Hetanzhai Wetland Park Detailed Construction Design

Under the direction of Haidong’s ecological master plan, the key-area landscape design delivers a concrete vision in Ping’an West and the wetland in Ping’an East. The wetland design addresses river safety, water shortages and water quality in the two sites. The project process involved studying the Huangshui River water condition, existing plantation, and urban infrastructure & construction character. The strategies proposed define the floodplain based on 50-year flooding safety standard, and use additional ecological dykes & river bank protections. The Project retains the river’s natural forms, arranging wetland, fish ponds, farmland and rural parks within the floodplain. The Project reduces sedimentation and produces clean water for agricultural irrigation by introducing clean water system. Additionally, the Project introduce a continuous bicycle route to enhance site accessibility.
